Are you ready for the Challenge?
The Water Aid Cycle Challenge Sportive returns for 2017 in partnership with
albaRosa and Valley Striders to offer 3 epic routes of 40, 80 or 111 miles
through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Living in Yorkshire we are blessed with great riding on our doorstep. We
can also stop at any cafe, pub or house along the way and fill our bidons
without a second thought other than to the next climb or thrilling descent.
Millions in the world, however, aren't so fortunate and the Water Cycle
Challenge supports WaterAid to bridge this gap and deliver a vision where
everyone everywhere has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene
education by 2030.
Saturday 1st July 2017 sees the biggest year yet for the event with 3 fully
marshalled, timed and supported routes offered all from our stunning event
base at the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club at Grimwith Reservoir where post
ride you can enjoy a complimentary hot meal and soak up the views, perhaps
with a cheeky beer at the licensed cafe. At 40 miles, our Reservoir Rush
route gives you a bite sized slice of the action with all the drama
squeezed into a perfectly sized portion whilst our classic 80 mile
Reservoir Romp gives you that 'Golidlocks' distance. Our headline Reservoir
Rogue route is 111 miles of pure Yorkshire awesomeness. With more climbs
than you can shake a stick at, including 4 of The Official 100 Greatest,
this is a BIG day out in the Dales with climbing equal to the Etape du
Dales or Fred Whitton. Stout.
So great cause, great routes, great facilities whilst still small and
friendly enough that everyone leaves with a smile... Sounds just perfectly
