Costs

Weekly sessions cost £4 per week.

Regular riders also need annual club membership of £10, there are also a number of family options. Our coaching sessions are part of the Allerton Grange High School extra curricula clubs and so pupils can attend without becoming an annual member (weekly £3 cost still applies) with valid proof they attend the school.

The Coaching (Thursday)

In line with our aim to inspire Youths to take up a lifetime of cycling, riding skills for both the recreational and competitive cyclist will be taught to enable safe group riding on the Tour de France roads across the White Rose county. British Cycling Level 2 coaches ensure the sessions are fun and use the most up to date coaching techniques. We like to get the adult race team along now and again to pass on skills, tricks and tips as well as inspire the youth members to follow their dreams

ARCC Youths will be coached to make the transition to the appropriate full ARCC group rides with a participating parent or guardian. In the Spring and summer months we offer regular rides for 11+ ages who have the skills to take to the road. When possible we also offer MTB rides.

For the competitive minded, advice and support is given on the right level of regional & national traffic free races to enter. This is built into our coaching.

The race skills and fitness sessions (Monday)

The sessions will focus on riders ready for fitness training and race skills. Riders should have good fitness, group riding skills and a desire to ride faster.

We base the sessions on British Cycling's Red, Amber, Green half termly model.

Road bikes only (or CX with road tyres)
We have the following ethos:

  • Friendly and welcoming
  • Multi club team effort
  • Equitable and positive

For the 1st few weeks we will be accepting organising club riders only to build routines and gauge numbers before offering sessions to any youth rider fitting the criteria.
After this period we will be posting when we are ready to accept riders from other clubs and how to book on.

How to get there

Vehicle access to the circuit is from Otley road just after Lawnwood cemetery (turn left) if driving from the North or just before the end of the dual carriageway (turn right) if driving up from the Ring Road roundabout
